Sažetak
In professional literature and in practice there are many different ways of ship resistance decomposition into components. Different decompositions, oriented mainly to practical needs of experimental techniques, are not, as is well known, in strict accordance with physical facts. A detailed decomposition of ship resistance into its components, using a number of classification criteria, is given in the paper. Special care is paid to the explanation of cause-consequence relations in an environment of very complex physical phenomena, interrelated through multiple interactions. Such an deeper insight into the resistane originating mechanisms, besides the widening the horizons of scientific comprehension, may also help in solving non-standard practical problems.
