Sažetak
The authors presented evidence for their claims about Croatian presence in the world of ELT. They were relying on a close analysis of documented research into as well as practices of ELT in Croatia from its beginnings in the 1880s until the present moment. The key areas that were focused on included process of acquiring English as L2, learner characteristics, classroom practices as well as developments in teacher education. Findings of a selection of key studies in the listed areas were described in order to show how they contributed to developing important new insights into ELT at the national and international level. Future presence of Croatian ELT was predicted on the basis of the authors' estimation of where it is at now and of where current research is taking it.
