Sažetak
To enhance the educational process and to contribute more to students’ educational success, primary school "Vežica" from Rijeka is the first and only primary school in Croatia that integrated tablets in the teaching process. The aim of this paper is to present the results of the evaluation study that aims to identify any changes in teachers and students as a result of introducing tablets in the classroom. The study included fourteen teachers, fourteen students, seventeen parents and four members of the project team, which includes the school’s principle. The study combines quantitative and qualitative research approach. Although the results indicate a significant increase in the time required for preparation, teachers indicate satisfaction with the quality of the teaching and better use of their own creativity. Teachers estimate better transfer of information and knowledge, higher motivation among students, enhanced teamwork, more dynamic and positive classroom atmosphere and improved collaboration with students. Students perform their obligations on time more often than before, their learning process is more enjoyable and preparation for written and oral assessment more dynamic and easier. In addition to strengthening digital competence, the language competence of students is strengthened as well. Parents notice their children become more independent learners.
