Sažetak
Competitive advantage, although widely mentioned in strategic management, is not precisely defined. In other words, there is no consensus about the definition of competitive advantage, or the way it can be perationalized. Moreover, the terms performance and competitive advantage are often used as synonyms. In this study, competitive advantage and company’s performance are separately operationalized and measured. Empirical analysis, conducted on the sample of 152 Croatian companies, has shown that there is significant interdependence between competitive advantage and company’s performance, and that both, performance and competitive advantage are not related to the number of industries in which firm operates.
