Sažetak
The results from the regional research carried out by assigned regional and international experts on EU integration related issues, presented at the Regional Conference "Promotion of scientific researsh and education in European integration and policy" (organized by the SEELS), are published in this book. It gives an overview of the integration process in the Western Balkans ; emphasizes the importance of the rule of law principle as the core constitutional paradigm in the EU and in national states and examines different approaches to its full realisation ; analises various aspects of the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms in the context of the EU accession to the ECHR nad the novelties foreseen with the EU Charter on Fundamental Rights ; examines the possibilities offered by the EU/SEE 2020 Strategy in the fields of the public-private partnership, innovation policy, higher education research for innovation and competitiveness, national efforts and regional cooperation in the promotion of competitiveness and sustainable development.
