Sažetak
Information systems are the enabler of the integrated logistics concept. Freight distribitors and transport operators cannot effectively manage costs, provide superior customer service, and be leaders in logistic performance without leading-edge information systems. An integrated and high-preforming organisation is key to successful logistics preformance. Integrated distribution and logistic management does not necessarily mean centralisation of the logistics activity into single organisation unit. ITS such as variable message-direction signs on main arterials, ring roads and motorways to inform, warm and divert travellers as well as public access terminals-kiosks providing real time traffic and travel information including tourist and ticketing services.
