Sažetak
Using a recently derived form of the Green function for a multilayer, a compac and transparent frame work for consideration of nonlinear processes in layered systems is developed within the approximation of undepleted fundamental waves. The theory is particularly suitable for the analysis of cavity (multipleinterference) effect on nonlinear light generation in multilayers and planar cavities. This is illustrated by considering harmonic generation from nonlinear slab embedded in multilayer and briefly discussing cavity effects in such system.
