Sažetak
A detailed examination of a completely sunken private vessel was carried out after an insurance company requested an expert opinion on the cause of the accident and the extent of the damage. The examined private vessel was a fibreglass planing boat powered by two petrol engines whose owner used her for sports and recreation. The vessel was examined on the fenced dry dock on the premises of a licensed service centre. The purpose of the examination of the vessel and the material evidence was to find out what actually happened. This paper describes in detail the entire procedure, involving the inspection of the hull, machinery space and propulsion system. In addition to presenting the assessment and conclusions, the paper features a number of facts, figures and photographs related to this real-life event.
