Sažetak
New findings of the estuarine bryozoan Conopeum seurati (Canu, 1928) along the eastern (Croatian) coast of the Adriatic Sea - The bryozoan Conopeum seurati (Canu, 1928) was first reported from Croatia (E Adriatic) in 2009 in the Krka River estuary. In 2010 the species was found associated with the invasive polychaete Ficopomatus enigmaticus (Fauvel, 1923) in brackish waters (Krka River estuary and Neretva River delta). At both sites, C. seurati was dominant, its colonies contributing significantly to the strength of polychaete’s aggregations. Only in the Krka River a second bryozoan species, Cryptosula pallasiana (Moll, 1803), was found. The same coexistence of F. enigmaticus and C. seurati has been reported from the River Po delta (NW Adriatic Sea), some New Zealand ports and harbours and the Mar Chiquita Lagoon (Argentina). Anchialine cave represent a new type of habitat for C. seurati and F. enigmaticus. C. seurati has been found on the walls of the anchialine cave “Špilja u uvali Vidrovača” (Krka River estuary) where it grew on the tubes of F. enigmaticus, the shells of the mussels Mytilaster minimus (Poli, 1795) and Mytilus galloprovincialis (Lamarck, 1819) and the carapaces of the cirripedian crustacean Balanus eburneus Gould, 1841.
