Sažetak
The study included a total of 23 invasive plant species in the Neretva River delta included within 12 families. The families with the most species were Asteraceae (35%) and Poaceae (22%). Analysis of life forms showed that therophytes are the most common (57%), followed by geophytes (17%), hemicryptophytes (13%), phanerophytes (9%) and hydrophytes (4%). Analysis of their geographic origins has shown that most of the invasive flora in the Delta is native to North or South America (78%), followed by species originating from Asia (9%) and Eurasia (4%). Some plant species (e.g. Conyza canadensis, Amaranthus retroflexus, Artemisia annua, Paspalum paspaloides, etc.) have become quite naturalized. On the contrary, some species are in the initial phase of spreading.
