Sažetak
In this study extrahepatic cholestasis was provoked in a group of 40 rats by underbinding of the ductus choledochus. The control group had 10 rats. At 0, 3, 7, 14, and 30 days the biochemical parameters in the serum and the presence of proteins in urine in both groups of rats were determined. About 10 rats were sacrified after 3, 7, 14, and 30 days from ductus choledochus underbinding for pathomorphological analyses of liver and kidney tissues. Certain statistically significant linear and quadrate correlations were established between the duration of the cholestasis, concentrations of some biochemical parameters and histological changes of liver and kidney. Electron microscopy of the kidney was also carried out. We did not notice any changes in glomerules or blood vessels. On the tubules there were no signs of acute tubular necrosis. In many places we noticed non-specific degenerative changes in the tubule epithelium, with destruction of some tubular epithelial cells (pyknosis, kayorexa, dilatation of mitochondria) and accumulation of bile pigments in epithelial cells of proximal tubules.
