Sažetak
In 93 patients with gastric tumours and in 35 individuals in a control group, values of basal gastrin in serum were studied. Fourteen out of 93 patients with gastric tumours had villous adenomas, 24 had adenomatous polyps, 29 had a diffuse type of carcinoma and 26 an intestinal type of carcinoma. In patients with vilous adenomas (p<0.01) and with the diffuse type of gastric carcinoma (p<0.05) statistically significant, higher levels of basal gastrin in the serum were noticed in comparison with the control group. The patients with villous adenomas had significantly higher levels of basal gastrin in their serum in comparison with patients with adenomatous polyps (p<0.01) and patients with gastric carcinoma (p<0.01). Also noted was an interesting and significant difference in the level of basal gastrin in serum with regard to macro and microscopic types of gastric carcinoma.
