Sažetak
The preference of English as the language of science is a new threat to the development of scientific terminology in Slavic languages. Analysis was performed using examples from scientific texts in Croatian language. In the technical terminology databases it is necessary to pay special attention on the method of formation in the spirit of the target language (Croatian language), with examples from the science project Croatian marine engineering terminology. Case study: Resolution of the Croatian language in science (Independent Union of Research and Higher Education) in 2014. It is certainly necessary to nurture identity and awareness that language is an important part of that identity. School and linguists have and should have an important role.
