Sažetak
Zagreb University has Croatia's only Faculty of Pharmacy. Croatian pharmacy is deeply rooted in the history of Zagreb University. The education of pharmacists started in 1982, and it was after theology, philosophy and law, the fourth course of study, During the period of 115 years the university education has changed following the advances in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Today's Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Biochemistry organizes and carries out scientific and highly professional work in two scientific and educational fields: pharmacy and medical biochemistry. The four-year undergraduate training in pharmacy leads to Master of Pharmacy degree. For the pharmacists the university diploma offers various opportunities of employment (community or hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, education and research, etc.). Students wishing to continue their studies can enroll either at Postgraduate Study of Pharmaceutical Sciences or Postgraduate Study of Medical Sciences. The postgraduate programme leads, depending on a course to the Master of Science in Pharmacy, Chemistry and Medical biochemistry, or corresponding Doctor of Science (Ph.D.) degrees. For those who want to improve their professional knowledge the Faculty offers two-semester professional study.
