Sažetak
In many cases maritime accidents result from poor judgements and incorrect concepts of the situation, or lack of information. For this reason, proper team work with adequate communication methodology would seem to be the most helpful management method. This paper deals with methodology which could ensure to eliminate any differences in concept that exist within the crew, or any conflicts with different information coming from instrumentation, observations, outside team members, or from any other source. The methodology applied should make the whole team active in noticing any conflicts with regulations and procedures. The 2010 Manila amendments to the STCW code for human element, leadership and management at management level will be analysed from the aspect of applied methodology in the domain of decision making and prioritization of resources for effective task and leadership. The idea of methodology which will be discussed in this paper is to achieve the best crew functioning when multiple independent thoughts can be creatively combined.
