Sažetak
There are a lot of ambiguities regarding discourse markers (their function, use and term itself), however, teachers should strive to integrate them into the lessons, primarily as discourse markers improve students' fluency in both everyday situations and formal occasions. In addition, they are frequently used by native speakers. The paper presents a short review of discourse marker definitions and functions, and a selection of class activities that can assist teachers in teaching discourse markers, and therefore improve students' speaking skills.
