Sažetak
Road safety is a fundamental concern to the public and to the responsible institutions in charge of its implementation and maintenance, because road accidents are among the leading causes of death and disability in the world, contributing to significant financial losses to both the participants and the whole community. The development of the reliable statistical model for the analysis and road accident prediction is a very important step in the development of traffic safety studies. Furthermore, the development of an accident prediction model could ensure adoption of precise knowledge about the causes and the consequences of road accidents, and by that, it represents a sound basis for a successful management of measures and actions aimed to increase the level of safety in road traffic.
