Sažetak
Management Information System (MIS) is recognized as a set of rules, processes, and methods appertaining to a plenned gathering, analysis, and presentation of information necessary for managerial decision-making.The fundamental components of MIS are databank, method bank, model bank and a communication subsystem. The development of the state-of-the-art information and communication technologies, especially of the Internet - the global computer network - enables not only the actualization of the aforementioned databanks via extern sources but also a direct utilization of all extern sources, whereby a business strategy experiences its revolution. Since digitalization of all spheres of man`s life as expected, MIS has a special importance in retail trade as a significant factor of population`s life standard. MIS`s new developmental possibilities in retail trade are especially important for Croatian retailers who are already today exposed to a tensed competition not only on the foreign but also on the domestic market.
