Sažetak
One of the main reasons why Istria kept Istrian folk music alive was treasuring it's national traditions. In recent history, three significant moments are associated with the strengthening of the Istrian identity, while the fourth is still in progress. One way of increasing national and regional awareness is choir singing. The reason for this is not only the text which holds national symbols but also the music which has the rhythmic force of a march. The author describes the choir festival called Naš kanat je lip which, since 1973, takes place in Poreč (the first weekend in June). The notes here, depending on the text, are arranged on the base of regionality and nationality. The music is supposed to be regional.
