Sažetak
The applicability of natural trihydroxamic acid, desferrioxmine B, as a spectrophotometric reagent for iron(III) is described. The analytical procedure is based on the reaction of chelation and formation of a brown-orange reaction mixture of several mononuclear complex species. Under the working conditions, predominance of hexadentate, 1:1 complex, ferrioxamine B, is supposed. The determinations are done by spectrophotometric measurements at absorption peak at 432 nm, molar absorptivity, epsilon = 2.60x10^3 L/mol cm. The analytical system obeys the Beer's law in the iron(III) concentration range 0.5-60.0 p.p.m. The influence of a series of foreign substances is investigated, and a sensitive, accurate and precise analytical method is proposed.
