Sažetak
The Rab and Pag island Eocene sediments have common general stratigraphic composition, which comprises so-called Foraminiferal limestones, which overlie bauxites, Transitional beds, and the succession of quartz-rich clastics. The Eocene clastics on both islands bear significant differences which are the focus of this paper. In the first place, the major difference are their depositional environments and operating sedimentary processes. The largest part of the Rab clastics was deposited in an incised-valley tide-dominated setting, whereas Pag island clastics were deposited in storm-dominated shallow shoreface setting. The paper describes individual facies, facies associations and provides reconstruction of sequence-stratigraphic architecture.
