Sažetak
The paper deals with the role and responsibility of the project manager regarding the construction project success. The first part of the paper deals with the new trends in the project management and constuction sector. The gap between construction technology modersnization and management improvement is explained. The central part addresses the competences needed for achieving project success, including project manager level, project level and organization level. The solutions given by project management are explained in terms of contibution to construction sector modernization, so as improvement of construction project performance.
