Sažetak
When it comes to mimetic retouching of the paint layer it is important to discover the painting’s internal structure and to collect all relevant information about its physical and technical properties. In this context, the poster discusses the extensive studies of renaissance painting technique sfumato, on the most famous example - Leonardo’s Mona Lisa. Based on the results of scientific research, carried out by the experts in the C2RMF laboratory of Musée du Louvre, a reconstruction of the painting has been made with the intention to explore the painting’s stratigraphy and methods of paint application. Each stage of the creation of the painting will be demonstrated with the objective of providing a better knowledge of the working processes, materials and techniques used to obtain sfumato. This study will hopefully enable understanding of particular visual effects that can be produced us- ing such technique, thus facilitating elaboration and improving quality of mimetic retouching.
