Sažetak
Arad was a major urban centre in the Early Bronze Age Levant, but it didn’t fit the typical urbanization profile in which most of the centres evolved from the development of the agricultural system and rural communities. Its urbanization was more connected with the nomadic population of the desert area. More interestingly, another urban centre, in close proximity of Arad was also connected with nomadic population. How close were the ties between Arad and Bab edh Dhra? This paper intends to compare the urbanization process in the case of Arad and Bab ed Dra, and highlight the possibility of influx of Bab edh Dhra’s population as a migratory group who left Arad.
