Sažetak
''Green electricity'' means electricity produced from sources which do not cause negative impacts on the environment. The cleanest energy sources are those which utilise the natural energy flows like: wind, solar and hydro power, wave energy, tidal and geothermal, biomass, landfill gas and waste incineration. This paper provides a brief overview of three generations of technologies for production of 'green electricity' and analises electricity production from mentioned renewable sources in EU-28 and Croatia, Germany, Hungary and Serbia in comparation with total electriciy production. The analysis is carried out for period from 1990 to 2012 base on available data. In the concluding considerations the degree of realization of the EU plans of energy strategy up to 2020, with respect to green electricity, is indicated.
