Sažetak
The work represents the conservation and restoration of the cabinet from the second half of the 19th century. It belongs to the artistic style of Historicism in the area with dominant German Neo-Renaissance, called the Alt Deutsch. The cabinet had to be treated to prevent further degradation of wooden parts and to preserve its historical and artistic value. All damages were documented before starting the conservation and restoration process. The causes of wood deterioration were detected and the most appropriate method of disinfestation was implemented. The wood species from which the cabinet was made were identified. This identification was essential for the reconstruction of the missing parts. Walnut (Juglans regia L.) and Spruce (Picea abies L.) were identified with the macroscopic and microscopic identification and with deciduous and coniferous tree identification key.
