Sažetak
Surfactants, are wetting agents that lowers the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and can also lower the interfacial tension between two liquids. They consist of polar head and a hydrophobic chain (or tail). The nature of the polar head group which is used to divide surfactants into anionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants.Nonionic surfactants have properties that enable facile transport between non‐miscible interfaces, such as water/biological membranes, giving them a broad and very important role in various biotechnological processes [1]. Cationic surfactants account for only 5–6% of the total surfactant production. However, they are extremely effective for some specific uses because of their peculiar properties.
