Sažetak
Rapid development of numerical models has provided novel methods to investigate the influence of microstructure on the evolution of properties of cement based materials. A virtual 3D porous microstructure created with available hydration models provides a fundamental basis for the analysis of the morphological influence onto the effective diffusion coefficient. Such an approach contributes to a better understanding of the occurring phenomena and thus improves the predicting reliability of coupled transport models. This paper investigates the influence of the morphological effect on the diffusion properties of hydrating cement pastes using the cement hydration and microstructure development model Hymostruc. The effective diffusivity was obtained by using a 3D finite difference scheme. Innovative algorithms are developed for evaluating the connectivity, dead-end porosity, tortuosity, and constrictivity of the capillary pore network. It was demonstrated that, beside commonly applied morphological parameters like tortuosity and pore connectivity, dead-end porosity and constrictivity are also important to consider in the effective diffusion of cementitious materials.
