Sažetak
Today there is a wide range of disposable diapers on the market. When parents are choosing diapers for their little ones generally speaking first of all they decide to buy product based on others positive experience i.e. friends, health visitor, pediatrician, etc. and second on the good promoting. Promoting has a big role in final decision. It is hard to decide what kind of diaper to choose and it is often impossible to tell which products perform well, and which will not. Is the price guarantee of quality? All diapers fulfill their purpose but there are obviously differences. Different producers promoting that their product, i.e. baby diaper is the best. Could we test and choose the best diaper? Are there standard methods for diaper testing? How to generally characterized hygienic articles? A medical textile is one of the most rapidly expanding sectors in the technical textile market. There is a big space to development appropriate methods for textiles and biomaterials for medical applications. That is not easy but it will be essential. In addition, there is a necessity of standardizing methods. In this work, some of the testing methods for diapers are present. They are not standardized but producers often use them and experts for medical textile i.e. diapers. Shown are product thickness and basis weight measurement, total absorptive capacity, centrifuge retention capacity, fluid run-off quantification, rewet and acquisition time under load and without load, and gel lock-up determination.
