Sažetak
Food quality control, including milk and dairy products, is well described in the legislation of each country, and is an important link in the food safety. The legislation includes not only a list of substances and their permitted (or prohibited) amount in certain food, but also a register of authorized institutions for individual analysis. In accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Quality of Fresh Milk" (Official Gazette 102/00), in line with the EU countries the Reference laboratory for Milk and Dairy Products (RL) has been established, and its role started parallel to the establishment of the Central Laboratory for Milk Control (SLKM) in Križevci, as a necessary part of the complete system. Since 2005 till now, the RL has accredited 41 analytical methods, according to the requirements of the standard ISO/IEC 17025. Based on the Food Law (NN 46/07, 84/08, 55/11) and Regulations authorizing official and reference laboratories for food and animal feed (NN 86/10, 7/11 and 74/13), the Ministe of Agriculture has authorized RL as an official and a reference laboratory. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to present the organization of Reference Laboratory, its tasks and obligations prescribed in the above stated Regulations.
