Sažetak
In terms of achieving the independence of energy efficient buildings, it is particularly important to ensure storage of thermal energy obtained from solar energy in order to balance daily and seasonal surpluses and shortages of energy. Solar energy is intermitted ; in this regard it is necessary to implement energy storing technology to achieve constant energy supply for the consumers of energy efficient buildings. A variety of energy storing technologies are available. Technologies that use a phase change material (PCM) are of particular interest. This paper offers an overview of energy-storage technologies ranging from PCM tiles, roof constructions with double layer PCM panel, VIP- PCM panels combinations, solar walls, etc. It also gives the analysis of active storage systems with PCM, ice storage systems, and cooling water storage systems. Given the importance of energy storage in buildings, considerable research efforts are taken in this area.
