Sažetak
In the dissertation investigated was the influence of openings in the masonry infill RC frames by use of experiments and numerical studies. The experimental part of the dissertation consisted of the tests performed on the single-storey single-span reinforced- concrete frame specimens with masonry infill. They were subjected to constant vertical and horizontal cyclic loads. Given the necessary limitations of the experimental tests and the necessity of generalization of the conclusions, the experimental results were supplemented with numerical studies, through nonlinear finite element method applied in ATENA 2D. In order to increase the reliability of the numerical results, first the FEM models were calibrated on the experimental results and then were used for further parametric study. That gave us the insight into the overall behavior and the influence parameters for masonry infill, with and without openings, were obtained. Understanding of the mechanism and the sequence of the failure of such composite structures helps in taking into the account the influence of openings.
