Sažetak
The six year is just passing by since the Faculty of Textile Technology, University of Zagreb (FTT) has launched initiative for the Textile Science and Economy (TSE) Conference within which a Proceedings such as the one in front of you, are regularly published. As Conference, each succeeding Proceedings brings novelty, primarily in quality and content, which is a feature of this Proceedings as well. Added novelty is in publishing, leaving a print edition and the transition to electronic edition in the form of e - Proceedings. Such publishing format was adopted primarily because it follows the general informatics development and underlines our environmental awareness and conscience as well as convenience in handling and use. Editorial Board, as well as everyone involved in the organization of the Conference, was maximally engaged in calling and encouraging renowned experts, entrepreneurs and scientists to participate at the Conference with their papers, in order to make published quality recognized in both the scientific as well as in professional circles. Unfortunately, this Conference takes place during an extremely difficult economic situation, the deep recession that with all other manufacturing industries has particularly affected the textile economy already weakened by global economic turbulence. The deep crisis has strongly affected the young, the most in terms of high unemployment. That is why this year’s Conference emphasis turning to young people, students of FTT and other students, which is reflected in the division of the economic and the student section, in addition to the usual participation of scientists. The aim of such targeted approach is to achieve synergistic resources of FTT, other faculties and e-STUDENT association, with economic entities, institutions, business incubators, banks and companies that offer complementary services and products. In the already mentioned aim, the choice of the main themes of the Conference has been presented, such as: "FTT potentials", "Economy view to the role of FTT in economic activities", "Aspects of foreign investments in the Croatian TOKGOI" and "A strategic framework and action plan for the sectors TOKGOI". In student section the emphasis is placed on the activities of the association e-STUDENT and activities on student business incubators and economic connections with young and innovative forces - students. With initial exposure of Dean of FTT and four thematic lectures, Proceedings is divided into seven thematic sections: Fibers and Materials, Mechanical Technology, Finishing, Garment and footwear technology, Textile testing, Design and marketing and Other topics. A total of 25 high-quality published papers at the symposium will be presented in the form of poster presentations and all published papers have undergone a rigorous technical and scientific review. Understanding the importance and necessity of regional cooperation, the Conference was attended by a number of scientists and experts from the region, whose works were also published in the Proceedings. At the end of this Editors’ word, we would like to thank authors, reviewers and an editorial staff of Proceedings and all other associates whose dedicated and responsible work helped the publication of these Proceedings. Proceedings, with its serious analysis and a host of current data, every reader is provided an interesting insight into the Croatian economy, textile, textile science and their economic and professional connections. Only by putting science into the function of the economy, we will achieve significant improvements in joint efforts to increase the competitiveness of Croatian TOKGI sector.
