Sažetak
A chorological analysis of species of the genus Crocus represented in the flora of Croatia was carried out on the basis of details in the literature and in herbaria (the ZA, ZAHO, LJU and WU herbaria). A total of 601 references about findings of members of the genus Crocus in Croatia have been collected. Of these, 466 items are from the literature (77, 54 %), and 135 are from herbarium collections (22, 46 %). During the research, a revision of the nomenclature of taxa of the genus Crocus was carried out, with the outcome that this genus can be considered to be represented in Croatia by 11 taxa: C. biflorus Mill. (incl. Crocus weldenii Hoppe et Fűrnr., nom. nud.), C. dalmaticus Vis., C. malyi Vis., C. pallasii Goldb., C. reticulatus Steven ex Adams, C. sativus L. (cult.), C. thomasii Ten., C. tommasinianus Herb. and C. vernus (L.) Hill. with two subspecies - subsp. albiflorus (Kit.) Asch. et Graebn. and subsp. vernus. For the twelfth taxa - C. longiflorus Raf., only a few, very old references in the literature have been found and there is doubt as to whether it really exist in the flora of Croatia. Three species of the genus Crocus are endemic to the flora of Croatia: subendemic C. dalmaticus and C. thomasii and stenoendemic C. malyi, known only from the mountain Velebit. The positions of the finding sites assembled have been determined by the application of indirect mapping with the assistance of the MTB network, with the aid of which distribution maps of taxa of the genus Crocus determined in the flora of Croatia are presented.
