Sažetak
Animal repelling devices using sound to achieve irritation are widely used. Paying respect to physical rules of sound propagation, particularly ultrasound, this article deals with all aspects of animal hearing properties needed to construct effective animal repelling devices. Ultrasound is widely used in order not to disturb people. Some difficulties rise from the lack of published data about irritation processes in animals caused by sound, but aided by approximations and experiments, this method can be successfully utilized. Repelling devices are built with different acoustic characteristics depending on the target species, in respect to their hearing apparatus. This individual approach increases the efficiency of the acoustic repelling method.
