Sažetak
In this diploma paper, the analysis of three books intended for the first year of learning English is provided. The main objective of this study was to determine which language skills and in what ways develop the most during the first contact with foreign, in this case English, language. This was achieved by comparing three classbook programs and topics with the document proposed by the Ministry of education (‘the Catalogue of knowledge’), which prescribes and describes the topics to be learnt and thaught Iin Croatian primary schools.
