Sažetak
The International Phonetic Alphabet and the American Phonetic Alphabet are different alphabetic systems of phonetic notation. Both are primarily based on the Latin alphabet. The IPA was devised by the International Phonetic Association. The APA was developed by a group of European and American anthropologists and language scientists and is used for the transcription of the Native American and some European languages. The International Phonetic Alphabet is widely spread, and it is favoured among linguists throught the world.
