Sažetak
Some new polycyclic heterocyclic compounds of the quinolone type shown on Figure 1 were prepared by multistep synthesis.1 Common feature of all the compounds synthesized is that they have at least one N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl] group which is present in number of substances possessing antiviral activity.2

The reactions of photocyclization of anilides, acylation of amines with carboxylic chlorides and esters and N-alkylation of amides were used as a final step in the synthesis of corresponding quinolone derivatives.
Prepared quinolones are tested on antitumor activity and showed very intensive action "in vitro" on some human carcinoma.3 Testing "in vivo" is in course.
