Sažetak
The territory of Republic of Croatia includes three most important phytogeographic regions such as: Pannonian region, Dinaric region and Adriatic region. Some of the wild plant species, such as Micromeria croatica, Satureja subsicata, Satureja montana, Moltika petraea are overspread in their natural habitats of Dinaric and Adriatic region. They are not only decorative but they also have a very big medicinal importance. On the Pannonian region the most important decorative plants are Viola odorata, Orchis morio and also Orchis militaris. For all these plant species is common that their medicinal effects are poorly known or unknown to the most of population and at the same time, these plant species becoming endangered because of their decorative characteristics. However, in spite of their decorative characteristics, there is no interest for their production (i.e. using the tissue culture and other propagation techniques) in controlled conditions and protected areas, in order to make them available to the target clients. This problem is possible to solve only by using interdisciplinary approach. This implies engagement of experts from different branches such as: botanists, touristic workers, experts for marketing, landscape architects, and entrepreneurs.
