Sažetak
This paper discusses the dependence of the leakage and friction losses in sliding pairs of the hydrostatic machines. It is focused particular to the interdependence of the slipper and the recess dimensions, lubrication film thickness, working pressure and speed. By comparing the results for oil and water hydraulics, data have been obtained showing large leakage losses that far exceed the relatively small loss of friction in water hydraulics machine. Despite great advantages, it is clear that only high-quality processing of slipper and swash plate surfaces, i.e. by reducing lubrication film thickness and operating pressures hydraulic machines with water as working fluid cannot compete with oil hydraulic machines at this moment.
