Sažetak
The main organic components of domestic wastewaters are fats, proteins, aminoacids, sugars and ascorbic acid. Most of them are easily biodegradable by microorganisms which can be isolated from the environment, and which are present in actiwated sludge of wastewater treatment plants. Within development of chemical industry and enormous use of petrochemical products wastwaters are consisting more and more phenols in its simple and supstituded form. Biological biodegradability of those phenol components has been proved by specialy adapted mocroorganisms of aerobic and anaerobic actiwated sludge. Use of detergents, especialy structure of linearalkylbenzene sulphonates (LAS), is resulting in a significant increase of its concentration in wastewaters. The LAS biodegradability has been proved by specialy adopted aerobic and anaerobic mocroorganisms. In domestic and industrial wastewaters there are also present components with nitrogen. Simple ones as amonium, more complex molecules such as proteins and aminoacids and molecules with the most complicated structure such as aniline and chloraniline. These sorts of molecules are components of wastewaters from production of poliuretans, rubber, azocolours, pesticides and some other industrial products. It has been proved that mentioned organic substances are inhibitors for growth of the most microorganisms in actiwated sludge, especialy those which have slowly growth such as nitrogene and methanogen bacteria. Those microorganisms can easily be washed from the actiwated sludge of the waste water treatment plant. If we want to have the whole sistem recoverd without waiting for a long period of time, until particular microorganisms with slow growth grow again, we introduce into actiwated sludge selected microbial cultures called bioaugment. Adding of bioaugment increases activity of activated sludge in a sence of biodegradation of specific compounds. Method of adding selected microorganisms into bioological sistems of waste water treatment plant is called bioaugmentation. Bioaugmentation has been in practice for many years and during this period of time it has shown its usefulness. It has been also proved that microbial biomass added as bioaugment can be washed out of flocula of actiwated sludge and because of that fact bioaugment should be added gradualy into system. New discoveries assure us that bioaugment in its granulated or aglomerated form are better binded in actiwated sludge with grater stability and low tendency to be washed out. Trough this work it has been investigated the activity of mixed bacterial culture composed of specialy selected sorts in its granulated or aglomerated form. Mentioned mixed bacterial culture has been added into activated sludge as bioaugment with the purpose of increase of biological activity for processes of biodegradation, nitrification and denitrification of waters with high concentrations of phenols, LAS and aniline.
