Sažetak
Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) consist of the combination of biological processes (typically activated sludge process) with membrane technologies and are being applied when high quality effluents are required. Over the last decades, membrane technologies alone or in combination with biological processes (i.e. MBRs) have been successfully applied for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. MBR-based technology is a complex physical-chemical and biological system with numerous interactions between the process variables. For design and better understanding of this complex system mathematical modelling is a very useful tool. According to literature there are several integrated models describing the both physical and biological processes taking part in MBRs with some simplifications. But there is still a big challenge in developing an integrated model able to describe the biological nutrient removal, formation/degradation of soluble microbial products and physical separation. In this work one-to-one local sensitivity analysis was applied to define the most important parameters of integrated activated sludge model 2d and soluble microbial product (ASM2d-SMP) model proposed by Cosenza et al., 2013. Model includes 19 biological state variables and 79 parameters (kinetics, stoichiometric, physical and fraction-related). By simulating described mathematical model with one and three percent parameters value increase/decrease the key regulation points of the model are detected. Obtained results facilitate future experiments planning and can be a good starting point for model reduction.
