Sažetak
Combining copper(II) β-diketonates or copper(II) carboxylates with simple, ditopic, nitrogen-containing pyridine-derived aromatic ligands such as pyrazine, 4, 4'-bipyridine, phenazine and 1, 5-naphthyridine usually results in monomeric, dimeric or one-dimensional polymeric adducts. Such adducts are usually crystallized from solutions containing metal-organic building blocks and ligands in adequate stoichiometry. Crystals of the adducts thus obtained may sometimes include solvent molecules which are trapped in the metal-organic framework. However, attempts to crystallize an adduct of copper(II) chloroacetate with phenazine from methanol and ethanol resulted in two different cocrystals in which the molecules of phenazine do not coordinate to copper atoms, but serve as hydrogen-bond acceptors instead, linking the paddle-wheel units through N∙∙∙H–O hydrogen bonds.
