Sažetak
An already vast field of the supramolecular chemistry of coordination compounds has been expanded by exploiting hydrogen bonding and halogen bonding functionalities of the metal- organic building blocks. We have expanded our work on one-dimensional polymeric structures consisting of paddle-wheel units of copper(II) carboxylates linked by simple, ditopic, nitrogen-containing aromatic ligands such as pyrazine, 4, 4'-bipyridine, phenazine and 1, 5- naphthyridine by applying our knowledge of such sytems in preparation of analogous compounds derived from copper(II) iodoacetate. Particular interest was shown in identifying the weak interactions responsible for the self-assembly of these compounds in the solid state, such as short I∙∙∙I, I∙∙∙π, I∙∙∙O, I∙∙∙N and C–O∙∙∙H contacts.
