Sažetak
The paper analyses Croatian legal and institutional framework on gender equality and women's rights, to identify challenges and successes. It focuses on the regulation of violence against women (a non controversial women's rights topic), identifying first the scope and content of state's obligations under international law. The paper points to the weaknesses of the Croatian gender equality framework, built upon the liberal idea of equality as equal treatment, and proposes the way forward.
