Sažetak
Organised by the International Cultural Centre, the PIF (International Festival of Puppet Theatres) was held in Zagreb, Croatia for the 45th time from 4th to 9th September 2012. Fifteen companies from ten countries (Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Spain and Croatia) took part in the official programme and more companies in the accompanying programme. The shows that were the best examples of the recognisable PIF aesthetics, graced primarily by respect for the puppet, interest in the relation between a human and the puppet, and insistence on the excellence of animation, are the following: Roommates (Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theatre, Russian Federation), The Queen of Spades (Grodno Regional Puppet Theatre, Republic of Belarus), Stone by Stone (El Teatre De L’home Dibuixat, Spain), Punch and Judy in Afghanistan (Stuffed Puppet Theatre, the Netherlands), When Shlemiel Went to Warsaw (Maribor Puppet Theatre, Slovenia), Good Doctor Jojboli (B. Mihaljević Children’s Theatre in Osijek, Croatia) and How the Wind Went Down to the People (Split City Puppet Theatre, Croatia).
