Sažetak
Internet Kiosk is a communication and multimedia device that provides public access to the Internet and its information services, such as World Wide Web, media streaming, and e-mail. Internet Kiosks in the same location are typically organized as a group, and jointly managed using an Internet Kiosk Network Manager tool, which runs on the Internet Kiosk Server. In this paper, we discuss known limitations of the current Internet Kiosk Network Manager, propose several enhancements, and describe early stages of their implementation. We started to develop a platform-independent, three-dimensional human-computer interface, based on Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML), and a functional enhancement to the Internet Kiosk Manager, based on High Level Architecture (HLA). Advantages of the proposed approach include a better overview of the whole Internet Kiosk Network, at a desired level of detail, as well as scalability, simulation reuse, and a perspective towards extensions to simulation and visualization capabilities
