Sažetak
The protection of oilseed rape from pests is currently based mainly on the use of chemical insecticides, despite of the occurence of resistant populations, particulary pollen beetle. One of the alternative methods of pest control in oilseed rape is sowing of trap plants which push pests from the main crop. Tha aim of this investigation was to determine the efficiency of turnip rape as trap crop to appearance and damage of pollen beetle and stem mining weevils to oilseed rape crop plants. A field experiment with three different oilseed rape production systems (conventional, integrated and organic) was set up in 2011 on the locality of Šašinovečku Lug, Croatia. The population dynamic of stem mining weevils was evaluated by using yellow water traps (Syngenta) and of pollen beetle by beating OSR main racemes into trays. Damage was recorded by dissection of plants and by dissection of buds. The results show the significant higher number of pollen beetle in trap crop strips compared to field centres in "integrated" and "organic" oilseed rape production systems so the use of insecticides was not necessary. Trap crop plants of turnip rape did not show satisfying efficacy in control of stem mining weevils.
