Sažetak
Recent studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of pre-hospital emergency care in reducing mortality in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients (pts). The general aim of this thesis is to evaluate the impact of pre- hospital and hospital emergency care in the management and prognosis of pts admitted to the hospital with ACS in University Clinical Centre of Kosova. The pts will be divided into two groups, depending on whether pre-hospital emergency care was used and three groups depending on clinical presentation of ACS: unstable angina, non-ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI). The pre- hospital emergency (PHE) is defined as those who are referred to the emergency department via PHE, and the control group as all other pts. The groups will compare in terms of clinical and demographic characteristics, initial ECG, and time of symptoms-to-ED and symptoms-to-ECG, in-hospital morbidity and mortality, and ejection fraction at discharge. We will do survival analysis at least six month after discharge from the hospital. Multivariate statistics will be used to determine prognostic factor of worse outcome.
