Sažetak
This paper elaborates economic indicators for the use of plant oils in production of chicken meat. The following plant oils were used: sunflower oil (group 1), soybean oil (group 2), rapeseed oil (group 3) and linseed oil (group 4). The aim of presented research was to determine effects that different oil sources supplemented to chicken diets had on chicken feed consumption and conversion, feed costs, production-economic number and market value of chicken carcasses. Plant oils were supplemented to finisher diets in the amount of 5%. Chickens were slaughtered after 42 days of fattening. Production-economic number was 326.36 for the group 1 ; 311.38 for the group 2 ; 323.60 for the group 3 ; and 327.73 for the group 4. Cost of feed was calculated for each group separately, being determined on the basis of carcass weight as cost of feed per 1 kg of chicken carcass. Total cost of feed was determined on the basis of feed consumption until the 42nd day of fattening, being on average 2.07 EUR for the group 1 ; 2.11 EUR for the group 2 ; 2.25 EUR for the group 3 ; and 2.57 EUR for the group 4. Costs of feed per 1 kg of processed carcass ordered for groups 1 to 4 were: 1.10 EUR, 1.15 EUR, 1.16 and 1.37 EUR, respectively. The use of linseed oil as feeding treatment is justified only for the purpose of enriching chicken meat with n-3 PUFA, since cost of feed per 1 kg of chicken carcass in group 4 was for 20% higher than cost of feed for group 1, and for 14.5% higher than costs for the group 2 and 3, so such meat shall achieve higher price on the market.
